Parliament has cleared the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill of 2026 after its approval by Rajya Sabha following passage in Lok Sabha. The purpose of the legislation is to strengthen the fight against examination paper leaks and organized cheating by provisions for severe punishments, time-bound investigation and creation of Special Fast Track Courts for cases of cheating and paper leaks. The move comes at a time when there are fears regarding emblematic cases of repeated irregularities in exams that have affected millions of students.

The Indian Navy has launched Machilipatnam, the seventh of the eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) being constructed by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL). The Bihar Shatabdi Unorganized Sector Worker and Artisan Social Security Scheme is a program started by the Labour Resources Department, Government of Bihar. It’s meant for giving help to those individuals who work in the unorganized sector such as laborers and artisans.

The Delhi Government has approved the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, a flagship welfare scheme aimed at promoting the economic empowerment and social security of women. The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat.

The Government of India has allocated a record ₹95,692 crore for rural employment under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G Act], 2025 during the Financial Year 2026–27. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that the operations of Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) will be wound up following an order of the Delhi High Court.
